I wrote this song in 1993.
We recorded this in Toronto with Chris 'Lurch' Rudyk engineering at Pete Hudson's Friendly Pirate studio. Joel Walsh and Kurtis Hannas played the song together in the studio with Jenn and I overdubbing our parts after. The day of the recording we didn't even think Joel was going to show up since we said to meet at the studio at 10am and it was almost 2 hours latter and still no sign of him. He strolls in at noon and casually says he had to go to the drum shop to get new drum heads for his kit. It did make a difference and he played amazing. Joel played all the songs to a click track, but on this song the chorus is one tempo and the verse is much slower. So I had to manually move the metronome tempo up and down to get a solid take.
This song was played 4 times a day for a week on London XFM radio, but I never saw a single cent in royalties. I guess they think if they keep the artists starving, we will work harder.
