I wrote this song in Toronto after listening to the album "Honey's Dead" by The Jesus And Mary Chain. I wanted something with a heavy distorted bass sound. The synth part was the typical swirling "wall of sound" that I was writing back then. I was always insistent that the keyboard should be loud in the mix, whether it was live or the studio. At gigs people would either love or hate it. This synth was a Roland JX3P which I radically modified and Jenn painted it.
This was the last song we recorded for the day at Friendly Pirate studio in April 1994. In 1997, new vocals and guitars were added in Vancouver and it was mixed in our apartment on borrowed and rented gear.
