This song also began its life as an idea for a cover song. This time it was another Canadian band called The Poppy Family. I demoed up their song "Where Evil Grows" and it sounded lame and it didn't work. So I scrapped it, but decided to keep the drum beat. It didn't take long to come up with the riff and words after that. I sent over a rough mix to my friends Darren Hayman and John Lee in London suggesting they add whatever they wanted. John came up with the awesome guitar part for the chorus (which Kurtis ended up playing on the recording) and they both did some background vocals, but I ended up going with Dave Longstreth's background vocals instead. Kurtis added in the lead guitar which was played through my Electro-Harmonix Micro Synth pedal. He did the atonal guitar sound by placing a long jewelry bead under his guitar strings.
